There is just something about a fresh new pair. I was out on my standard 7km trot this evening for the first run in my new Asics Gel-Cumulus 22's.
I'd taken the time to research the right shoe for my mobility, stride and strike went to a number of running shops was pretty chuffed with my purchase. Time and km's on the road will tell if the decision was right, but I ran at least 15seconds per km faster on this run without trying to run faster this evening.
This got me thinking, is it just a "placebo effect" of new cushioning and white soles or if taking the time on this decision does actually instantly affect your actual performance. Has anyone else noticed this? Is real or was I just riding the feel good wave?
